easy as pie
something in a snap
Last night some of our dearest friends from Cleveland came down for dinner and to spend the night. I knew I’d want to maximize catching up and minimize running around. So when it came to dessert I almost bagged it. But for some reason presenting a little something special at the end of the night makes it… well, special. So here’s a sweet secret that is as easy as one, two, three.
Now don’t blink. Here’s how to make cheesecake tarts with fresh berries.

All you need are bite-sized sweet tart shells, a slice of chocolate cheesecake, and some fresh strawberries.

Carefully remove the crust from the cheesecake.

Crumble a little bit of the crust into the bottom of each shell.

Carefully spoon a bit of the cheesecake, trying to make it look as pretty as possible.

Place on top of the shell.

Rinse berries and pat dry.

Arrange filled tart shells on a platter with fresh berries. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
I had to laugh this morning when my best old friend met my best new friend and they rehashed last night’s menu. When she raved about the dessert I had to come clean. Some secrets you simply can’t keep from your besties.
Wherever I find myself, I’m happiest with a full dining room table. As a former professional chef and caterer I want to share what I’ve learned over the past three decades of entertaining.
