smoked salmon appetizer

4 oz thinly sliced quality smoked salmon

4-6 slices ethnic pumpernickel bread

1/3 cup whipped cream cheese, softened

2 Tbsp finely chopped red onion

1 tsp finely chopped fresh dill

fresh dill sprigs for garnish



Combine the whipped cream cheese with the finely chopped red onion and fresh dill.

Place four slices of bread on a cutting board. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bread.

Cover the bread completely with a single layer of smoked salmon.

Trim the bread if necessary and cut into triangles.

Garnish each with a small sprig of dill.

If you have extra salmon repeat with remaining slices of bread as needed.
