ham and swiss toasts

Ingredients:

4 ounces jarlsberg or swiss cheese, grated

1 slice ham, 1/8-1/4” thick, about 2-3 ounces

¼ cup mayonnaise, or as needed

Baguette slices, ¼ “ thick

 

Directions:

Dice the ham. Add the grated cheese and mayonnaise. Stir well to combine. Place in airtight container and refrigerate for up to five days.

Preheat the broiler.

Spread the ham and cheese mixture on top of baguette slices. Season with freshly ground pepper. Place on a parchment covered baking sheet. Broil until bubbly and golden, about two minutes.

Serves 4-6 as a canapé, also makes a wonderfulaccompaniment to soup or salad for lunch
