homemade homemade pizza crust
Ingredients
1 Tbs sugar
1 cup warm water
1 envelope active dry yeast
3 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil
Directions
In the bowl of your Kitchen Aid proof the yeast in the warm water and sugar for 5 minutes (make sure the yeast has become active- you'll see it bubble and multiply).
Add 3 cups of flour, the salt and olive oil. Stir until combined then attach the dough hook and knead the dough for 5 minutes. Add a little more flour if sticky or water if it's dry.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size. Punch out the dough divide and roll out or wrap and freeze.
Makes one 16 inch pizza, two 12" pizzas, two very thin 16" pizzas or 24 pizzettes. Bake pizza in a 450 degree oven for 10-15 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
