maple baked bacon

Ingredients:

½ pound thick cut bacon, cut in half crosswise

1 tablespoon high grade maple syrup

 

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Cover a rimmed baking sheet with foil, top with a baking rack.

Place the bacon on the rack. Bake in oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until just beginning to brown.

Carefully remove from oven (there will be hot grease in the pan). Brush the top of the bacon with maple syrup. Return to the oven and bake for another three to five minutes, until golden brown.

Drain on paper towel. Either serve immediately or let sit to room temp then cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
