what to bring

Categories: Grains and Pasta, Posted on December 10, 2011 by Sandy Bergsten

Seriously who needs another plate of sweets. Next time think outside of the bakery box when it comes to hostess treats.

Remember this summer’s bumper crop of basil, and its subsequent marathon session of pesto? Try reaching into your freezer and bring a present that will truly delight. During the holiday season who wouldn’t love the gift of a meal that comes together in a matter of minutes.

In the spirit of the season try mustering a bit of Martha and tie up dinner for two. All you’ll need is:

½ pound fusiili pasta

4 oz of frozen pistachio pesto

a festive cellophane bag

a personalized recipe card

a red ribbon to tie it all together

(Upon delivery make sure your package is properly placed in the frig or freezer.)

basil

Here’s a summer flash back on how to make this fabulous pistachio pesto. (If your freezer isn’t already full don’t fret, many grocery stores offer an abundance of fresh hydroponically grown basil year round.) Feel free to double or quadruple the recipe just note that only a double recipe will fit into the food processer.
