just a minute
something in a snapHow many times have you needed an appetizer only to find that all your spare time has evaporated into thin air? Lately I’ve been on the run leaving me very little time to cook, let alone photograph and post. But rather than stressing out about it I decided I would share some tricks I keep up my sleeve when I’m faced with an actual entertaining need and no time to spare.
Here is a killer app that comes together in literally 30 seconds. Luckily I happen to live right around the corner from Dorothy Lane Market where I can find the best of everything I need. Don’t worry if you don’t share that same Dayton fortune, I’ve spied similar ingredients at Trader Joe’s and other top shelf markets.
Here’s a goat cheese and tapenade dip you and your guests will dive into.
Go ahead and hold your breath it all starts with these three ingredients- whipped goat cheese, olive bar tapenade and pita chips. Note when making a dish with few ingredients quality really counts so don’t skimp.
This creamy light goat cheese is superb. You’ll find it in the gourmet cheese section.
Dorothy Lane Market makes an incredible olive and caper tapenade. You’ll find it in their olive bar.
Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips have no rival.
You will need a small ceramic quiche dish or low bowl. Spoon the goat cheese into the dish leaving a little a little perimeter around the edge.
Top with olive and caper tapenade. Again leaving a little border of goat cheese around the edge.
Place the filled dish on a decorative plate and scatter the pita chips around.
Now you can breathe.
